agree realty

2015 AIA Detroit Honor Award

The Agree Realty headquarters reflects the transparency of the company. The new steel beams and columns are pulled through the skin of the building, allowing the structure to be understood at a glance. The steel details are continued throughout the building with plates that form the stairs fold outwards and wrap the edges of the second floor. The solid masonry north wall has been opened up to allow views out of, and into the building. Floor to ceiling glass separations define spaces without obstructing views.

The shape of the existing triangular entry served no purpose and was removed. In it's place,a curtain of glass spans between the remaining structure and a plane of charcoal metallic brick. Contained within the airy new structure is a lobby and board room on the first floor and president's office on the second floor. New glass conference rooms jut out from the existing structure into the new lobby.
